Caddell & Chapman was lead counsel for the mother and father of a 23 year old man who suffocated to death when he became engulfed in grain while working at the Port Elevator grain facility in Brownsville, Texas. The employer failed to take adequate safety precautions or provide safety equipment which would have prevented Mr. Casados’ death. The family elected to try the case to a jury when Port Elevator offered only $50,000 to settle the case. Caddell & Chapman obtained a favorable verdict for the family, and ultimately settled for more than a $158,000 net recovery for the Casados family.
