Lawsuit about Credit Reports with Bad Payment History on Payday Loans

Your bad payment history on illegal, high-interest, payday loans should not be on your credit report.  Caddell & Chapman recently filed a class action lawsuit about TransUnion credit reports that include the payment history on void, high-interest loans from internet or “rent-a-tribe” payday lenders, specifically Great Plains and Plain Green.  Caddell & Chapman is still  investigating several other potential matters involving payday lenders.

On May 10, 2018, Caddell & Chapman filed a class action lawsuit regarding outdated prison or jail addresses on credit reports. Plaintiff James Mello brings suit against Trans Union, LLC. Mr. Mello alleges that TransUnion unlawfully reported the address of the Bristol County Jail as one of his previous addresses, with Mr. Mello’s former prisoner identification number referenced as the apartment number. Caddell & Chapman Obtains Final Approval of FCRA Settlement

Caddell & Chapman, along with co-counsel Devin Fok of DHF Law, P.C., recently obtained final approval of a class action settlement in Hawkins v. S2Verify, No. 3:15-cv-03502-WHA, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. On May 5, 2017, Judge William Alsup entered the order finally approving the settlement, which will pay each of the approximately 4,295 class members a cash payment of more than $176.
